Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum
The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is one of 15 Presidential Libraries operated by the National Archives. It includes both a research archive and a presidential museum. The archive holds approximately 40 million pages of documents from the Carter Administration, as well as one million photographs, over 2 million feet of film, and 2,500 hours of video, and is open to researchers.
The museum, which is open to the public, traces the lives and careers of President and Mrs. Carter and includes an exact replica of the Oval Office, historic documents and artifacts, interactive exhibits, unique and exquisite Gifts of State and the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to President Carter in 2002. The library sits on 37 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and is adjoined by the non-profit Carter Center. Together, The Carter Center and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum make up The Carter Presidential Center.
